The Woman Behind By Niccara

Niccara Campbell is a Cali-born, Baltimore-bred creative, podcast host, and founder of By Niccara—a space for grounded wellness, multifaceted pursuits, and authentic living. Through her podcast, "…But Make It Books," and her writing, Niccara creates safe spaces for women to explore life's complexities with depth, nuance, and always through a healing literary lens.

By Niccara exists because Niccara refused to choose between her many interests and identities. As a woman working at the intersection of politics, entrepreneurship, and creative pursuits, she knows what it means to be multifaceted—to be ambitious and slow, bookish and social, wellness-focused and living fully. This space is an invitation for other women to do the same.

You'll find essays on intentional living and grounded wellness practices. Travel guides rooted in self-discovery rather than consumption. Hosting philosophy that centers community and care. Book recommendations that heal and transform. And always, the belief that sophistication and slowness can coexist—that you don't have to choose between your many selves.

Niccara approaches everything with the strength of Regina King and the caffeine levels of a Gilmore Girl. When she's not writing, podcasting, or reading at her local bookstore, you'll find her traveling intentionally, planning gatherings, or exploring what it means to live in her truth—one deliberate choice at a time.

By Niccara is held within Sonny Langford LLC, named after her grandfather, Alvin "Sonny," and the street she grew up on in Baltimore. Sonny Langford is an ode to her ancestors' dreams and the future they've made possible.

Why By Niccara Exists

I grew up caught between worlds with my family’s dreams and my own ambitions, the pressure to choose between being professional, creative, wellness-focused, or culturally engaged. For years, I tried to compartmentalize: the political operative, the podcast host, the bookish girl, the wellness enthusiast, the friend who plans dinner parties, the woman reading five books at once.

But I refused to choose. And I got tired of being told I should.

By Niccara exists because there's no space in mainstream wellness and lifestyle media for women like me—like us. We're told to "pick a lane." We're expected to optimize every part of our lives. We're sold wellness as another form of consumption. We're given permission to be ambitious or slow, intellectual or spiritual, professional or creative. Never all at once. Never integrated. Never whole.

This space is different. This is permission to be all of it.

By Niccara is rooted in grounded wellness—not the performative kind, but the practices that actually ground you. It's about moving your body intentionally, sleeping deeply, creating rituals that matter. It's about recognizing that wellness isn't separate from the rest of your life; it's woven through it.

By Niccara is about intentional living—being deliberate with your time, your space, your energy. It's about saying no so you can say yes to what matters. It's about gathering people around your table not to impress them, but to care for them. It's about creating sanctuary in a chaotic world.

And By Niccara celebrates your multifaceted pursuits. Your hobbies that don't monetize. Your interests that seem unrelated. Your love of books and travel and ideas and culture. The belief that you don't have to turn everything into a side hustle. That you can read for pleasure, travel for discovery, host for connection, and pursue interests simply because they feed your soul.

This space is rooted in self appreciation and self discovery. In healing through literature. In the strength of our ancestors and the dreams they held for us. In the philosophy that sophistication and slowness can coexist. That you can be ambitious without burnout. That you can thrive without performing.

I'm Cali-born, Baltimore-bred, a political operative by trade, and a creative by nature. I host a podcast called "…But Make It Books" where we explore life through literature. I spend too much time at bookstores. I approach everything with the strength of Regina King and the caffeine levels of a Gilmore Girl. And I believe deeply that you—multifaceted, complex, interested in everything, refusing to choose—belong here.

Welcome to By Niccara. A space for women like us.
